Amblyseius Cucumeris, a natural predator, is highly effective at controlling thrip populations. For best effect, use early during the growing cycle or at the first sign of thrips.

How Amblyseius Cucumeris control thrips:

• The life cycle of Cucumeris begins with small white eggs, which can be seen attached to leaf hairs along the veins on the lower leaf surface.
• Eggs can hatch in about 3 days into non-feeding larvae, which moult into nymphs after about 2 days.
• The are 2 nymph stages, which last 7 days, and one adult stage, which can last up to 30 days.
• The adults feed on immature stages of thrips. The adult female can lay up to 35 eggs in her lifetime.
• Adults can eat on average of 1 thrip per day, and will also feed on two-spotted spider mites and their eggs.
• Establishment of Amblyseius Cucumeris requires 1-2 weeks, so it’s best to use them before thrip populations develop.
• As Amblyseius Cucumeris feed on immature thrip stages, a decrease in adult thrip populations will not occur for about 3 weeks.
