Why do the leaves of my plants have tip burn?

Tip burn can be caused by several factors and will need a thorough investigation. However, the most common cause is a build up of nutrient elements within the plant tissue. This is usually a result of a constant or infrequent increase in nutrient strength, excessive heat and/or low humidity.

Why are the leaves of my plants curling upwards?

It could be a sign that the environmental conditions in your grow room are not quite right. Excessive heat and/or low humidity can cause leaves to curl upwards. Therefore, don’t let the temperature of your indoor garden exceed 30oC. A good mister/fogging system will help with humidity problems.

Your plants may also be suffering from a magnesium deficiency. This can be caused by a shortage of magnesium in your nutrient solution. It could also indicate that the Conductivity Factor/Electrical Conductivity is too high.

Why are the leaves of my plants curling downwards?

Ensure the roots of your plants and/or the medium you are using are not too wet. Downward curling leaves can also indicate that the nutrient strength in your grow tank is too strong. If so, you'll need to adjust the strength of your solution.

Why are the leaves of my plants turning yellow?

Yellowing leaves suggest that your plants may be suffering from a nutrient imbalance. This can be caused by either incorrect nutrient management or poor environmental conditions. If the temperature and/or humidity of your indoor garden are not right, the uptake of certain nutrients will be affected.

Why are my plants growing very slowly/ not at all?

If your plants have stopped growing, the environmental conditions in your indoor garden are probably out of balance. Your indoor garden will need a thorough investigation. Check lighting, air quality, temperature, humidity and nutrient management.

It’s also a good idea to inspect the leaves and roots of your plants for a possible insect infestation and/or fungal infection.

Why are the roots of my plants brown?

When a plant has brown roots it’s usually a sign of infection. This can be caused by insufficient oxygen, which suggests you’re over watering your plants.

It could also indicate that the nutrient solution in your grow tank is too strong. So it’s worth checking the Conductivity Factor/Electrical Conductivity and pH level.
