How do I reduce bad smells in my grow room?

You can combat bad smells by installing a carbon filter in your grow room. A carbon filter works by using activated charcoal granules. These charcoal granules eliminate airborne odours. A carbon filter should be attached to your extractor fan.

It may also be worth installing some ozone generators in your grow room. An ozone generator helps to kill a smell at the source as well as any other area it drifts to.

How do I control the humidity of my grow room?

If you don’t have a ventilation system in your grow room, this is the first place to start. Extractor fans come in various sizes. The more lights you have in your grow room, the larger the extractor fan you will need.

It’s also a good idea to add a dehumidifier and/or mister to your indoor garden. Both will help you retain a tight control of the humidity level. A dehumidifier works by taking excess humidity out of your grow room, while a mister will add humidity, if necessary.

How do I take cuttings?

You should take cuttings from the base of the plant (around the outer shoots). Always use a sharp knife and cut at a 45 degree angle. Place the cuttings into a bowl of tepid water.

Next, pre-soak your Rockwool cubes with a ¼ strength grow nutrient. Dip the cuttings into a rooting agent before inserting them into the Rockwell cubes. The cuttings will now need to be placed into a propagator

What type of media should I use for my cuttings?

We recommend that you use Rockwool cubes because they hold more water and air than any other growing medium. This gives the cuttings easy access to water, nutrient and oxygen. Another advantage is that the roots are clearly visible.
